Would anyone notice if I disappeared?

Let's be realistic. I don't think people would notice for at least 2 days, maybe a week. If I didn't show up to my classes for a week, my professors might become concerned. If my friends hadn't seen me in a few days, they might text or call me, but it wouldn't be unusual for me to not answer, so they wouldn't really be concerned. My boss at work would probably just think that I was sleeping through work, so he wouldn't report me missing. I can't think of a single person who I see regularly enough, or who cares enough, to report me missing after less than 2 days. After two days, the people who I eat breakfast with MIGHT get worried, but they would just assume that I was sick or something. All I'm saying is that I don't feel like people would miss me. What's the point?

  1. I know that feeling all too well. It's a little different now that I have a child, but before we started living in the same town as his paternal family, I felt like something could happen to me & no one would realize for days if it weren't for him going to head start/day care & missing that. Especially since I would sometimes not answer my phone/text & avoid anyone seeing my online. It sounds like you are having a rough day & I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that it gets better for you & if you need to talk or vent to someone, you can always email (emryelle@gmail.com) me. <3

  3. You might be suprised.

As someone who has both been "missing" and filed missing person reports I can say that people notice more then you think. You are thinking of the people in your life as individuals at this point. All it takes is one person to realize that you haven't seen anyone in a couple days to realize something was up.

But yea, it might take a couple days. But really, my ex ran away from home when he was 15 and no one ever filed a missing persons report for him, so that puts a couple days into perspective...

  4. I'd miss you. we'd all miss you. It's hard to want to be noticed in such a busy world. With all the events and cultures, ideas and people it's easy to feel lost. Try to focus on what makes you happy and who has made your life better... and know that you've done the same for someone else.. you are special.
